Lost registration password, how to reset?

Okay I scoured the forum and the tomtom.com website, but all answers I found were only close: How do I get my account set to a new mail address?

Background:
- Last time we needed to do an update was years ago.
- We had registered with a mail address, but we have forgotten which. In fact it's probably one of various mail addresses that we used to have, but which no longer exist.
- I tried support, but the chatbot does not know about this situation, it keeps directing me to the login page to get support. Catch-22. Argh.
- I cannot find a support phone number for the country I now live in (Switzerland) or for the country where we bought and registered the device (Germany).

Is there a list of support phone numbers anywhere?
Or some other way to contact them to resolve the issue, given that the normal means requires a login that assumes I know the mail address I used?
 
Hi Joachim, which device do you have, If you are not sure, what are the first two characters of the serial number?

It is no longer possible to contact Tomtom via telephone.

What device do you have?
If no subscription Reset the device to factory defaults.
Then create a new Tomtom account with new email address Mdp.
 
Ah, I didn't expect that - how do they know that I'm entitled to a map download if they don't use the mail address to identify customers?
