help pls tomtom one 3rd edition

hi all need a bit of help if poss i have got a tomtom one 3rd edition
what i need to know is how can i have the map up with out putting in a place that i am going to
need to get the map up for free driving if you know what i mean so i can see the cams etc etc

What is it that seems to be preventing you from doing that, Stuart? When you start up your unit, does it not take you to a screen showing on what road you are on?

If not, I think (if these are Preference options on your model):
Preferences-->Start Up options--> Check the appropriate choice there.

Perhaps you need to use the 'Clear route' function to get rid of a previous routing. This done, the unit will simply display where you are, without giving out any directions.
