Go6000, Go Exclusive that doesn't work properly
I have just bought a GO 6100 and am really pleased with it. We have a Citroënn Grand C4 Picasso, the Mk 2 version. One of the problems I have had is that there was nowhere to mount the 6100 So far it has just sat in te bottom of the centre 'glove box' and was not very satisfactory. It won't stick to the flat glove box door because it's a fuzzy felt type covering and there just isn't anywhere else for it.

SWMBO (she who must be obeyed) pointed out the 'staple' part of the closure for the glove box and I got to thinking? I decided to try a piece of perspex to slot into the 'staple' and with a bit of adjustment finished up with a perfectly stable mounting. Very simple, but very good, well think so??

The perspex is about 3/16" thick so quite stable

And bent with some careful heat it holds quite tight but is easy to fit and remove

The 6100 is easy to see and will swivel to either side

And it doesn't impede on the electric parking brake either. All in all I am rather pleased with it and although it took me a few hours to sort it would now take about 30 minutes or less now I know what I'm doing..

Edit : - I forgot to say that our C4 has the semi auto sequencial gear box and the manual version with a gear stick may be different???

Very ingenious John, you are a man after my own heart as I love coming up with my own solutions for technical issues. Your installation looks very neat and tidy.

I was a bit luckier with my car, a Honda Jazz, and didn't need to do any adaptations. I couldn't use the windscreen as it's just too deep and would have positioned the TT too far away for comfort. Fortunately I had a bare central area on top of the dashboard. It wasn't completely flat but even so I took the risk of buying the pack of two TomTom stick on discs ( http://www.tomtom.com/en_gb/drive/a...ounting+disk&gclid=CJHJgvPU-McCFWjmwgod4BgE2Q ) and they work brilliantly, sticking to the slightly bevelled surface with incredible grip ... that's 3M glue technology for you. The first disc worked perfectly so I'll just keep the second disc in reserve, perhaps for a change of car in the future.

Ta for your comment. I have to admit that I have never been particularly interested in a built in GPS. We spent a few days in the town of Pau a couple of weeks back and the car was in the hotel garage in a different building and it meant that I could sit in the comfort of the hotel and sort out routes. Otherwise it would have been a case of waiting until we were out of the garage, underground, and stop to sort it out. It just seems a no brainer to me?

I am chuffed to deeth with the 6100. It's a right smartass bit of kit and very quick to reroute too.

Très bien! Love it. I need to think of something like that for my car. I don't like driving around with it on my windscreen, it makes people think I don't know where I'm going!

Trés bien? That's French init? After living here for 11 years I know these things see

I have never not known where I'm going and have never been lost. In those circumstances I am just exploring a new place:confused::confused:

You're just not trying hard enough, John. Or you're married, in which case, you'll have been obliged never to have admitted to it no matter the circumstances!
