Hiya, I've got a major issue. My 50 will work perfectly for hours on end but then, suddenly, without warning turn off and fail to be turned back on unless the power plug is pulled and re inserted. However, this doesn't always work and several false starts may occur before a successful start. Any ideas please?

Try a drum reset on the unit by holding the power button about 20 seconds till you hear the drum sounds. Also, is the connector cable tight in both the device and the cig lighter outlet?
