Duplicating POIs

Hi all,

I hope you can help me. In reading some of the issues that other posters have, this may be minor. Is there any way to tell which POIs are standard with a map?

I'm asking because I don't want to duplicate them. Not sure if this could be an issue. I've downloaded several, mostly restaurant, store and hotel/motel chains. Is there a way to check on possible duplicates? Thanks!

I know what you are asking and I wish there were an easier way than trial and error once the custom dl is installed.

Let me give you one example I have, a generic gas station icon and a specific brand one I downloaded, both located in the same space. The icons are tight next to each other.

One advantage of the firmware 8.3, buggy that it is, is that the user can now delete a poi from those that came with the map (used to be that one could only delete a poi from a custom download).

So, it is possible to visually remove duplicates. A bit tedious but it can be done.
