duplicated POIS showing

after loading a customer poi i look on to my tomtom under navigate/poi/poi near you or city or home and I see for example Apple Store =, it appears as a red block, and it will show locations. But I am also seeing another red block labeled . Apple Store, (notice there is a period before the name). Clicking on this does not render any locations. I am not sure how to get rid of this duplicated name. I have done this with multiple pois and the same thing occurs.

I don't know whether the tool found here : http://sourceforge.net/projects/poi-dup-finder/

will help or not. worth a try, maybe.
