Coloured Arrow Symbols Next to POI

Does anyone know what these mean? Sometimes, next to a list of POI from which I select to "Navigate to...", there are little coloured arrows. I've seen:

Straight Green Arrow
Green Arrow w/ the middle part of it offset
Straight Yellow Arrow
Yellow Arrow w/ the middle part of it offset
A blank space where other POIs have an arrow

What are these?

The arrows indicate if the POI is on your route, or if you have to make a small offroute trip to reach the POI (Yellow).
