cannot install Home

I have an XL 30 which I wanted to update but I cannot install Home. I get the same message every time
Error opening file for writing:
c:\Program Files(x86)\TomTom HOME
2\xul\components\command line validator.js
I am running Windows 7 and I have tried to install the older version of HOME but the same problem occurs.
Any advice would be appreciated

Are you running the 32 or 64 bit version of Win7?

Have you attempted running the installer in "compatibility mode" (ala XP)?

I am operating the 64 bit version. I haven't tried to install it in compatibility mode- I'll give it a go this evening
