540 XXL cannot upload new map to device - says no room

I've got the latest map download and it is 1571.4MB. TomTom home says I have 1849.3 MB free. When I try to upload it from my computer to my XXL, it gets halfway and says not enuf room.

Can you use Home to Manage my Device, Items on Device, Voices and off-load any voices you aren't using, especially computer voices not being used.

By any chance are you running Home on a Mac?

Tech says I'm not getting a good download copy so I'll have to go to my uncle's to download on an unlimited internet connection. I'll post back if that doesn't work. Thanks guys!!
