See about me (ran out of space)
So I recently bought yet another TomTom start 20 (AP) and when I initially got it, it was bootlooping, however a restore fixed it, and brought the unit to the setup screen, however it does not seem to have any maps installed on it, so I went to tomtom support and got a one time map update free of charge, however MyDrive connect does not seem to work for me, on windows when I try installing the map, it keeps reloading the page, till it gets stuck on just the background image, and on MacOS it skips downloading the map and goes straight to installing which then obviously fails since it didn’t download the map (I checked the download folder, and both cleared the download folder and cache, and no difference)

Now the thing is TomTom support says it’s an hardware issue (and immediately tried to get me to buy a new device entirely) however, atleast on windows I have the same issue with other nav3 TomToms, which did work before MyDrive broke and still work with the latest map update (v11.70) on macOS when using the lifetime maps options, So I’m suspecting it to be an software issue rather than hardware issue with MyDrive connect

So would anyone happen to know if it’s indeed an software issue, and what I can try to get MyDrive connect to work again?

Also additionally on the start 20 (AP) I’m updating using the west europe zones (specifically the ones that include the Netherlands), since it cannot fit the entirety of Europe

(Also, whoops got a little too many TomToms now xD)

copy from the other thread

So a few weeks ago I went and spoke to tomtoms customer support and got a free one time map update to v10.15 for my start 20 since it was somehow missing it's own maps, but couldn't install it as it would refuse to download both on windows on macOS, and tomtom blamed it on the device being broken, however on a new windows install it says the download failed with an 404 not found, does this mean, the issue wasn't with the unit itself after all? The unit itself starts up fine to the initial setup, it's just missing it's own maps

Normally, it should be possible to reinstall the latest version that was available before the bug occurred.
And if you haven't done so already:
Have you cleared the cache to restart the download?

See this link.

well the thing is, the older map was appointed to my device by an employee, as a one time courtesy, since the even older v885 also wasn't downloadable, and so I could at least use the device, and the link it tries to download, also errors out as a 404 not found error in the browser

If I understand correctly, you already have a map installed on your GPS.

If you are trying to install a new map, you need to use MyDrive Connect.
