GO Expert Plus 7" PP
Hi anybody else getting same problem in UK. Upgraded from Trucker 6000 to Go Expert Plus 7" in February as inbuilt 2g sim won't get signal now. Went up M1 north last night, junc40 exit slip road was closed. Tomtom picked it up as a full northbound carriageway closure and tried to take me on a 20 minute diversion with a 16'2" double decker. Seems to be happening quite alot with motorway slip road closures. When I carried on past j39 screen just freezes on you the exit slip at j39 until I got past j40 and then it re routed saying my route was on a blocked Rd. Getting very annoying

This looks like a known issue where the GO Expert Plus misinterprets a slip road closure in the traffic data feed as a full carriageway closure, which is a data or firmware interpretation problem rather than anything you have done wrong. It is worth reporting this directly to TomTom support with the specific junction, date, and time so they can investigate the underlying traffic data for that incident. In the meantime, when this happens you can dismiss the rerouting suggestion and continue on your planned route - the device should recalculate once you are clear of the affected section, though the screen freeze you describe near J39/J40 suggests a possible software bug worth mentioning in that same support report. Make sure your device is on the latest software version via MyDrive Connect, as TomTom does push fixes for routing and traffic handling issues.

Hi thanks for taking time to reply. I will going to contact Tomtom support when I remember to bring my sat nav home with me (leave it in my work bag in my locker).
Was just curious to find out if it was a common issue or just my device 👍

Good plan on contacting support when you get the device home - having the serial number to hand will help them look up your device history.

As for whether it is a common issue, I have seen similar reports from other GO Expert and truck-range users where slip road or entry/exit closures have been interpreted too broadly by the routing, so you are likely not alone. That said, it can sometimes come down to the specific traffic data being fed through at that moment, which is why reporting the exact details (junction, date, approximate time) is genuinely useful - it gives TomTom something concrete to trace.

If it turns out to be a firmware issue affecting others, reports like yours are often what prompts a fix in a future update, so it is worth doing even if it feels like a small thing.
