TomTom Model(s)
XXL 540
Just bought the Tomtom XXL 540. Taking a "road trip" this summer and I hate driving with a lap full of maps. :) I've backed up my unit using Windows Explorer and then updated Using TT Home. Then I backed that up on both Explorer and Home. As I understand it Home only holds one backup. I burn my Explorer backups to a DVD for safekeeping. Did I miss anything?

You've done the important thing. Doing the Explorer backup.

And welcome to TTF.

Thanks. I had been "lurking" in the forum and that seemed like "everyone" said that was the thing to do. Very impressed with the XXL 540. Easy to use and understand. The speed vs speed limit is really helpful and the speed limit changes within feet of the speed limit sign. Impressive.

P.S. If you happen to be using Linux you can backup your Tomtom with your file manager (I use Dolphin). Of course you can't run Tomtom Home which only runs in Windows. :-(
