I've used GPS since way back when my Icom (damned if I can remember the model number) unit only gave you latitude & longitude (no map) and its 12 real parallel channels sucked down a set of AAs in an hour or so.
I got my 510 late last year but just recently decided to try some 3rd party stuff like Tripmaster and fool around with the splash screen. I've generally been happy with the 510 so far, though there are times I still wish I had my old Garmin 45. Sometimes I like to use my GPS in non-traditional ways.
