FULLY customizing the TomTom interface (menu images, maps color schemes, sounds etc.)

Hey everyone, I'm new here and I'm looking into buying a GO720 or GO730 soon. A nice interface is something I like, and being able to customize most aspects of the TomTom interface is something I want to try to do. I'm trying to create a list of things we can change or want to change:

1. MENU STRUCTURE
As far as I've read, the structure is highly customisable, with the exceptions of a few compatibility drawbacks in newer versions of navcore 7/8. This is done by creating the tomtom.mnu file... heaps of threads on this.

2. MENU INTERFACE ICONS
For example with a particular menu item in the tomtom.mnu file:

MENUITEM|TASK_NAVIGATE_TO|

To Change the ICON and/or LABEL just add two more varibles separated by the ?|? symbol:

MENUITEM|TASK_NAVIGATE_TO|?icon.bmp?|?Where to??|

The icon will change to icon.bmp and the button caption will now read, Where to?
Icons must be BMP 80 pixels wide x 50 pixels high (80x50) in 24 bit color. The full BMP file name must be used in "quotes" between the |pipes|.

3. GENERAL INTERFACE
Anyone have any idea if the background of the menu, the size of the fonts and the colours can be customized?
How about the map view screen, where the speed, time, street names and signal strength are shown. Can the look of this area be changed?
If someone knows or has any clues, please share!

4. SOUNDS
As far as I know, you can customize POI sound alerts, ringtones, sms tones, startup and shutdown sounds, voices and computer voices for TTS. Startup and shutdown images can also be added through tomtom HOME.

There are other things I won't bother listing, such as the car symbol etc.

Whatever you do FIRST create a [ BACK ] button for we newbees.
I is infuriating when one tries a menu item in the 8 screen Change preferences and it is not the one wanted and one now has to move forward 7 screens to get another crack on the first one, or it puts one back onto the map with the current position.

You can do this today with a CUSTOM menu. THe icon will still be an arrow pointing to the RIGHT, but if you click on it, it will take you to the previous page.

For example, those in RED take you back to the previous page:

Sometimes Comcast updates/reboots their servers and certain links stop working. I just tested it and it seems to work for me now...is it working for you?

Got it. Had to do a "shift+reload" to see it, afterward. (Sorry, this all probably should have been handled through PM's.)
