Go Discover
I recently bought a new Go Discover device in France with World Maps included. The 'About' option under 'Help' on the Main Manu confirms that my Installed Maps are WORLD but when go to the 'Map & Display' option on the 'Settings' it only shows Europe as Downloaded. I live in Australia and want to get access to the Australia/New Zealand maps now but they do not appear as an option for me to open.

Can anyone let me know how I get the other world maps to show as an option under Downloaded Maps? I have not been able to set up Wifi yet due to authentication issues which TomTom support are aware of, so I cannot download any myself at the moment.

GO Discover comes with regional maps pre-installed by default.

To add a map from another country, just go to
Main menu > setting > Maps & display > Downloaded maps > in the right corner you will see the option > Add

The Tomtom must not be connected to the computer via the USB cable, otherwise the "Add" option will not be highlighted.

Thanks but still no joy. I got an error to start with saying could not connect to the server (maybe because I cannot get wifi working yet) and then it showed 'loading' in the top right corner but just then hung with nothing downloading.

Anyone with other ideas? Does it only work if wifi connected? I assumed that as my Help section showed that my device came with World maps installed that they would not need to be downloaded from anywhere, just made available to me to view and use.

I think you need to factory reset the device then reconnect to Wi-Fi with your credentials not to connect with Mydrive.

Yes. For whatever reason, map updates are only possible through a WiFi connection. They cannot be downloaded over a hardwired connection. Have never really understood that restriction.
Once you get your WiFi working, you can use the Maps setting page to add/delete any maps from anywhere in the world that TomTom offers them.

Thanks,

I finally got the Wifi working and then the maps could download OK.

You can try to fix this by removing the old map files and then re-downloading the map. Here are the steps to do this:

1. Connect your device to your computer and open MyDrive Connect.
2. Click the tab My Content and scroll down to the section My Maps.
3. If your map is listed as Corrupted here, click the image of them map and then click Uninstall.
4. Wait for the uninstallation process to complete and then click Update my device.
5. Select the map you want to install and click Install.
6. Wait for the installation process to complete and then disconnect your device safely.

You should now be able to see the maps on your new device.

Note: OP says the model in question is a Discover.

On this latest (Discover, Expert, etc.) generation of devices, maps are not managed through MyDrive Connect. They are managed directly on the device over WiFi connection.
