Recently picked up an XL 340S, and came to the realization that a DB of AT&T hotspots could become useful on a road trip. Seeing as I get access to them via my phone's data plan and all.
So, I wrote up a small tool which grabbed the whole list for the US and Canada (21k locations!) and would slowly geocode the whole mess over a couple of days. So now the list is done.
20,221 hotspots across the US and Canada, with the location marked with both the name of the location (McDonalds, Starbucks, Motel name, what have you), and the SSID of the hotspot. It isn't the full, 100% list (missing 843 locations I couldn't get geocoded), but it is still at 96% coverage, which should be good enough for most road trips.
