As has been known for some time, AT&T will be phasing out its 2G service during the course of 2016. By the end of the year, there isn't expected to be AT&T 2G service left anywhere in the U.S. When a given area gets hit isn't clear as there was never a roadmap published for the tear-down. Anyway, if you missed it, here's TomTom's email to Nav2/Nav3 owners who have had a Live services subscription.
It APPEARS that they are still trying to charge the full $60/year knowing full well that any given area of the country might have anywhere from 1 to 12 months of service left. You'd think they'd cut people a little slack on the subscription price knowing full well that for any particular customer, it won't very likely have be a real 12 month subscription when the lights start to go out.

Dear TomTom Customer,
Thank you for being a loyal TomTom customer and for your use of a TomTom GPS with LIVE Services.
Your LIVE device includes a modem that connects to the AT&T 2G network to provide access to all of our LIVE services (such as Traffic, Safety Cameras & Weather). We regret to inform you that AT&T has announced plans to shut down their 2G network by approximately January 1, 2017. This means that no later than December 31st, 2016 your TomTom LIVE services will no longer be available, as the network will be shut down.
To ensure that you are able to continue to use our LIVE services in 2016 you MUST RENEW NO LATER THAN DECEMBER 31st, 2015. The renewal will ensure that your device will continue to have access to all of the LIVE service through the life of the network. No renewals will be possible after this date.
For the inconvenience, we’d like to offer you an additional 10% off the current sale prices of a new TomTom GO 50S, 60S or 500! The all-new TomTom GO 500 or 600 includes lifetime traffic so you’ll never have to renew services again! Use code ATTGO10 at checkout. Code expires 1/31/16.
