Tom Tom Go Expert 6 - No internet error ??

Hi all, Just writing this on behalf of a friend of mine. Yesterday he received his go expert 6; Went to set it up etc etc, but even tho he is connected to his wifi it says connected but no internet; Same with his hotspot. He tried resetting the device and still the same. He left it overnight to see and it still says the same. I've tried messaging tom tom on facebook but I have got no reply from them

Tell your friend to turn on their GPS outside in an open area until their GPS finds the satellites the icon indicating their position on the GPS should be blue.
 
Yes. With a fully charged device go outside where there is an unobstructed view to satellites. No tall trees or tall building.
As Willy875 said, the grey 'current location' icon will turn to blue confirming the acquisition of sufficient satellites.
After that initial set up you will see the blue one most of the time, even in underground garages and the initialisation should not require repeating.
