Hi I bought my tomtom XLS got some questions.
- Do you recomand a plastic protector like PALM have.
- Is home map update is alway's free? I have Canada USA, would I have to buy a new one in 4 years.
- what do you recomand to prevent your Tom to be steal?
- I have a code that came with on a yellow card, but it is not working, what to do?
- Why starting the program it is so slow.
- I did some corrections on map, why it is not show the correction on the map right after? Ex: a new street. How long dose it take to be corrected on SHARE. If I write a blocked street will it reroute next time?
- Can't find the POI I download.
- How to create POI?

-I don't think you need a rubber cover, just a case to put it in when you're not using it. I haven't seen a rubber cover made for Tom Toms
-After your one free map update, further map updates will cost you. You can buy a new one whenever you want, but you must buy one once a year to continue to recieve Map share updates.
-NEVER LEAVE YOUR GPS IN YOUR CAR! NEVER! NEVER! NEVER! Clean off the suction ring from your winshield, and don't leave the suction cup or the charging cord visible in your car either.
-Yellow card for what?
-Starting what program?
-New streets are not changed immediately. That is sent to Tom Tom, and it's up to them to put it on a new map version. If you unblock a street, that should change your route next time. That is a change that shows on your unit immediately.
-What POI d/l are you looking for?
-Go to "Change preferences", "Manage POIs", then "Add POI"
