Hello All, newbie here.

I don't presently own a TT but hear they will/do have a motorcycle version. I assume it is/will be a rain-tite unit as a Garmin Zumo 550. I know when my old Garmin gives out I can't afford another.

Thought I'd listen in here and learn about TT's.

Welcome to TTF. Yes, a new Rider 2 model (for motorcycles) was announced last week in Amsterdam but exactly when it'll hit the retail market, especially in North America, is not clear at this time.

Well, that was quick. Thanks for the info, I'll be on the lookout for a Rider 2.

There are also several older versions of the Rider, that may be still available.

Watch out for TomTom's rather bizarre model numbering system, because there has already been a "Rider 2" model available for some time! (at least in the UK)

Thanks for the heads up with the model numbers. Since I just started looking at TT's, right now, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason. Of course, I'll be looking for a model for the US also.
I do some cross-country motorcycle Riding so a GPS is indispensable to me.

How so? I would think any GPS would be fine if a waterproof version.
