TomTom Model(s)
TomTom GO and AmiGO (both Android)
I have a subscription to TomTom GO Android. It works on the phone, but in the last weeks, I have problems when I use it on Android Auto. And, as you can guess, this is by far the most important way to use it.
It simply freezes the whole Android Auto which becomes unusable. There are times when TomTom GO works, but other parts of Android Auto are unavailable.
Touches on the screen in that case aren't detected. But there are times when TomTom doesn't load (stays at loading app). If I uninstall (or don't start TomTom) then all works in Android Auto as it should.

I tried all I could imagine. Force stop TomTom, delete cache and data, uninstall/install. I even tried changing permissions to Android Auto, because I heard that Android Auto shouldn't have a location permission when TomTom is used there.
I have enabled the "Help us improve" - this should send data to TomTom. The application has all permission, even the "Run in Background" is enabled.
TomTom GO is the latest version available.
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S21 FE with the latest Android and all (official) updates.

I wrote to TomTom and am waiting for an answer. At the moment the program is unusable.
I someone has an idea, I would be thankful.

I have similar with samsung s24.
If I unplug the usb connection and re connect AA then works fine. This seems to be the case on every journey.

I can confirm that app is now completely unusable in Android Auto.

@Merlin 4x4 - it would be nice if you also report this to TomTom.

It may also be a problem with the Android auto application also report to Google.

I will wait for an answer from TomTom Support. The problem appears only if TomTom GO is used.

I use bluetooth to connect to Android auto. Randomly, the connection stops working for a few days. Then, just as mysteriously, it starts working again. I can’t tell where the fault lies.

I'm not sure if your issue is connected with TomTom.
Back to the topic - it looks like I have found the solution, but will wait some days to confirm. Otherwise, I'm still waiting for an answer from TomTom's support.

In the last few days, I intensively searching and testing.
I collected the most important in an article on my blog. Some things can help with this issue. Now it works for me also.
I'm not sure which one was the most important, but everyone can go step by step and see.
