GPS Fix Still Used?

Hello:

I have not received the GPS Fix files for a couple of months. Even after removing the files from my XL-340S I still don't get the GPS Fix files.

Is TomTom still using GPS Fix, or has one of the recent updates (firmware and Home) that eliminated the need for the GPS Fix files?

Yes they do still send out the qGPS files via Home but if you use your device on a regular basis there is no need for using them at all as they offer no benefit to signal acquisition times, following a spate of duff files that were sent out covering the UK containing errors I have stopped bothering with them and notice no ill effects at all (circe 18 months plus without qGPS) - Mike

Go to manage my XL in Tomtom HOME, and remove all quickgpsfix entries on both the "device" tab and the "my computer" tab.

Then go to Update my XL and is should give you quickgpsfix again.
