Why must I use North America and not USA & Canada?

I just read a post somewhere else and saw that dhn mentioned to not download USA & Canada, and to instead, download North America. This was a reponse to someone else's post regarding Latest Map Guarantee.

I ask because when I bought my ONE XL on 9/14/08, my ONE XL came preloaded with USA&CANADA version 710. 2 days later I used LMG and it said the latest map available for free for me was USA&CANADA version 725 which is what I downloaded for free using LMG. Few questions:

1.) When was map 725 released?
2.) I'm probably never going to Canada but does it hurt to have Canada in my ONE XL?
3.) Would I get much better detail if I had just North America alone?

Thanks all

After re-reading that thread again, Im thinking that North America is for higher devices? Instead i see that "USA" is what there is for my device. Is there any difference in the "USA" map vs USA & CANADA" map? Am I ok with having USA & Canada version 725 on my ONE XL?

You should search for other threads on this subject as this has been discussed lots of time!

In a few words, the GO models NA map is unusable on ONE models unless you have an SD card because of the 1GB internal memory of the ONE. While all roads are present in both types, the NA provides some cosmetic additions. NA maps have larger POI and, useless to ONE models, speech recognition files. Version 7.25 is the latest issued in September.

NA includes Canada also...

If you ever want to sell your unit, you are better off having the bigger maps and later version.
