I have had old sat navs before which were unusable in strong daylight or sun.
Will I have the same problem with a Go 5000 ?
I know the location in car is relevant but when sat nav is on front windscreen light from side of car can badly reflect on sat nav screen.
Manufacturers car sat navs are usually lower in car or have a shroud.
Does any one have a suggestion or will the GO 5000 be OK?
Don't won't to spent £199 and find it useless!

Some certainly have had issues with the glare on the screens at times. You can google for sunshields on ebay or amazon.

It hasn't gotten any better over the years. The shift to capacitive touch screens for higher end units has turned them into the same sort of mirrors you find on smart phones. It was somewhat better with the older resistive screens, but not much. I gave up mounting on the windscreen long ago. Mounting lower, using any smooth dash wrap surface, or mounting with alternate mounts available from 3rd party or TomTom sources has worked much better for me.
