Hi,

I'm having an issue when setting up the app. It won't allow me to download any maps to my device.

“Can't connect to server”

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

If you have an iPhone you must download the application from Apple and normally Tomtom GO will offer to download the map of your region.

I don't know why you can't download maps?

Are you trying to install the app from the Google Play store?

Is your phone compatible you must have at least Android 7 and have plenty of internal memory to install the maps.

Have you tried the app in the past?

I've checked all Play Store reviews from the weekend and there is no mentioning of a server outage. Also such would have been temporary since the servers are monitored. How are you connecting to the internet?

I cannot find anything in our internal data base other than temporary server issues. Someone mentions that an Android setting "Mobile Data parallel to Wi-Fi" fixes the DNS access but on my pretty old Samsung phone I cannot find that.

I'm downloading the UK maps and that works for me. Which map are you trying to download?

Trying to download the UK map. It won't let me download any map.

For United Kingdom there are 3 maps to download, you cannot install any of the 3.
Have tried installing another my France example.

I’ve tried every map that it lists. It will not allow to me download any. Get the error message “can’t connect to server”

At the risk of stating the obvious…have you raised a ticket with TT support?
Once you have, post the number here, and Juergen might pick it up.

We don't really need a ticket here. I've posted this again in our Slack channel to see if someone from 2nd Line has perhaps found a solution. The strange thing is that again I could just download the UK maps without issues.

Have you tried that Android setting "Mobile Data parallel"? That was a response of a customer on how he resolved the issue but again, I can't find that setting.

Next to the re-installation that you already tried I got the following: Trying a different WiFi connection could be an option. Since it's Android, there might be an external card issue possibly, blocked/limited access to that card, maybe using internal storage would help.
