Hello everyone

I've been using the Go App in Android Auto for a long time and I'm very happy with it. However, I have never had to use a saved route. Since I have a trip to Sweden coming up in the summer, I would like to use this function.
I created a route in Google Maps and exported it. KMZ converted to GPX and then imported into MyDrive. I then made fine settings and adjustments in MyDrive. Everything went great and I can see the route in Go too. Everything as it should be.
But I still have the following questions:

  • if I interrupt the route because we are staying overnight, can I continue the route or does it always send me to the starting point? When I start the route I am asked whether I want to go to the nearest point. Is that this function?
  • I planned the route so that he shouldn't avoid anything. However, the Go app is set to avoid motorways and toll roads. Which option does he take now?
  • I would like to use motorways at the beginning, but then no longer. Is that possible? Can I switch to "avoid motorways" during the route?
  • If there is a major traffic jam or a roadblock for me on the way, do I go around and then get back on the route?

To question 1 after stopping your route will start from your position.

To question 2 If you plan a route with highway GO navigation will guide you exactly as you planned the route even if you check avoid highways.

In question 3 if you deviate from your planned route GO navigation will guide you to rejoin the planned route.

Many Thanks for your answers.

Is it actually better to plan with waypoints or with stops?

@Willy875

So, I've now tentatively planned and tried out two routes.
  • one route was with waypoints
  • the other was with intermediate stops
Both routes worked and I was guided as I had planned them.
But the waypoints or stops are not shown in either one or the other. I cannot see when I have reached a stop or a waypoint.
I also tried sending the intermediate Stops via the MayDrive app. But that didn't work either.

Do you know why that is? This means I can't skip any intermediate stops and I only see the arrival time to the destination and not the intermediate Stops.

If you add a stop to your route it should work then send.

On Mydrive you can see the stops on the application map, but you cannot see the stops.

No, unfortunately it doesn't work. I don't see any stops or waypoints in the route bar or on the map in Go, only in MyDrive. But the route follows these points

That's what I said about Mydrive, you can see the stops on the app, you can't see the stops.
