Problem with error codes

I have the 930T model, and when I tried to update the maps etc., I kept on receiving an error code, and it refused to do the update. I also tried buying a map update which also failed due to a different error code.
I fixed this by creating a new account on the HOME page -in the top right hand corner click on the account you created in the first place, this will bring up your details, click on create new account and use a different email address and create the new account. Use this to update and hey presto it works!!!!!!!
