Hi,

I'm the Blues Boy and I'm a GPS-aholic.

My ONE XL-S is my first GPS and I am hooked.

Any suggestions on where the best place to mount it would be appreciated (console vs windshield).

Also, does anyone know when this model was released?

Greetings and welcome to TomTom forums.

Make sure you make a complete Explorer, not Home, backup of your unit's contents and ensure hidden files/folders are showing.

As to placement of the unit: No right answer. Factors include the slope of the windshield, how convenient or inconvenient will extra dangling cords be, how protected from the glare of the sun, stuff like that....

Your model was introduced on November 10th, 2007 and has been superseeded by the XL 330 - s during the summer of 2008.
