Hi Folks, I'm new here but hoping I can find some answers. I'm sorry this is going to be a bit long-winded but I want to run through everything I've done to date.
My Go 6200 worked perfectly until a few months ago when, after recording a route, I used to get a qwerty keyboard so I could name the route. That doesn't happen anymore - instead it immediately goes back to the normal map display. It then sometimes appears in 'My Routes', but only after re-booting the unit with a time/date stamp. It does not give me an option of renaming the route.
I had a webchat with TomTom support and they suggested a software problem that may be fixed with a factory reset. The only problem is that I already have several routes saved and don't want to lose them. I tried connecting to MyDrive, but the routes would not sync. I left it connected overnight thinking it may take some time, but again, no sync.
During my chat with support, I was told that a factory reset will not delete my routes or maps. Is this correct? I thought it deleted everything.
Is there another way to extract the routes - maybe as a GPX file before I do the factory reset?
Today I noticed another problem with the battery. Even after a charge it would only switch on for a couple of minutes before shutting down saying 'Battery Empty' so I have a new battery on order. Today however, I noticed that the battery icon on the top left of the screen is showing a full battery when it shuts down, so maybe there is more wrong with it. Will a factory reset fix this?
So, the first answer I need is whether a factory reset will delete maps and routes. Then, how do I get to to sync with MyDrive?
