I have recently bought a 510 so that I can use it in Europe and the USA.

I have successfully connected it to My Drive and I am told that it is now fully up to date.

When I go to MyDrive/Overview/Plan routes and view traffic/MyPlaces/POI Files I see a list of POI files that I (think) I have loaded onto my 510. This list is here whether the 510 is connected or not.

When I use the 510 and try to use one of the POIs as a destination I cannot find it.

How can I confirm which personal POIs are actually on the 510?

I have tried searching on the whole map and in a town containing the POI but every time I search nothing is there.

Is there anyway to check on the 510 that the POIs are actually there?

Also I am not sure what you mean by an "horizon for searching for pois"

The POI folders should show, without the .ov2 extension, at the bottom of your My Places list.
Tapping one of them will open the Search window and display at increasing distance from current location.

Hi Arno you are a genius; if I was a youngster I would say you are now my super hero!!!!!

The POIs are there as you described above. Is this information given in the guide or are we supposed to find this out for ourselves?

Perhaps tonight I will get to sleep much earlier now tht worry has been lifter from my shoulders.

I have now played with my new pois and if I select a category they now show up on the screen however they all are marked by black circle with an arrow at the bottom.

If I click on the circle I get the correct information displayed.

As all my imported pois had an associate bmp file with the same name I am surprised that the bmp image is not displayed.

Any suggestions?

When I imported the pois files into MyDrive I only clicked on the ov2 file. Should I have done something differently?

There is currently no way to import .bmp files into the newer models such as yours.

Last time I looked at a NAV4 GO manual, POIs were not even a gleam in the developers eyes.

Just had a look at http://download.tomtom.com/open/man...tm#WelcometonavigationwithTomTom-MASTERGO.htm but do not see anything about that.
However if you happen to see them in My Places on the device, say what the heck and tap on one, the rest will be history.

When you open your list in Search and tap on one of them and then on the triple dot options, you can add that one as a "Favourite" to your My Places list and it will show in alphabetical order.
