block part of a street forever?

Is there a way to block part of a street between 2 intersections and have it work for all routes? They closed off part of a street between 2 intersections due to a new park. Most of my routes in this area seem to go through the blocked street.

I think you can block the street from one entrance to it and then block the street from the other. Some report you have to go through the process of 'unblocking' then 'blocking' for the information to 'take'

Thanks - I was just able to do the blocking, from home, on the map. I blocked the same spot on the map both northbound and southbound and the next time I plotted the route it avoided the intersection.
