I have recently been receiving emails from TomTom which say "We’ve got an important update for you—your current device can no longer support the latest map updates."

I
have a GO Essential, which apparently is also known as a GO/GO Camper Tour/GO Navigator 6", according to MyDrive. The serial number is ZE3431T01110.

The device came with the full Europe map, and I suspect the internal memory cannot hold the latest full map. HOWEVER, I only have the UK & Ireland maps installed because I no longer travel outside the UK.

This morning I successfully downloaded and installed the update to map version 1150.12731 - which seems to contradict the end of support statement in the email.

If support hasn't ended now, when is it likely to?

TBH I'm not really that bothered, because since receiving the emails I have been experimenting with Waze, Android Auto and NissanConnect, and that combination seems to offer as much if not more than my TomTom - and it's free.

I downloaded the latest map yesterday, and I have a lot older device, than you, a VIA125 (with "lifetime map update").:)
I think that we are safe as long as TomTom is selling new devices.

Perhaps the email you received is about the old GPS you have?

I agree with Willy - appears to be a message related to a previous device. Current 'Europe' map for your device is 9043MB in size, and you've got a 16384MB device to work with there.

Not that it makes a lick of sense, but since the 'UK & ROI' map is only 945MB, it should even co-exist with a full Europe map in the space you have available.

I wouldn't give it another thought.
