xl s text to speech saying "yards" not "miles"

With the computer voice activated she says the word "yards" when the actual measurement is in miles. I have tried changing the measurement but it doesnt seem to work. It's a bit annoying to hear her say "turn right in 1.2 yards" when the turn is actually 1.2 miles away

any ideas?

Exactly. Each computer voice uses different methods for verbally reporting directions. For examply, the US voice "Mandy" likes to say in 1/4 mile instead of 400 yards, which I prefer since the TomTom's yards is really more like feet in reality. The measurement in miles, however, is quite accurate.
