I can't seem to get ride of te red 'halo' no matter how clean it comes out in photoshop... I hope you enjoy anyway

That will always happen if you try to be too clever and have shadows etc.
Anything that is 'almost' red will show as red on screen. Only FULL red (255,0,0 RGB) will become transparent.
