Windscreen Mount Click-and-Drive

The official Tom Tom shop are selling on Amazon their windscreen click and drive mounting kits with charger and cable. However the right angled cable is micro-USB plug and the mount socket is USB-C judging by the reviews, everyone is sending them back - including me. Tom Tom have changed the mount USB but NOT changed the cable!!! anyone from Tom Tom on here that might like to explain. They must be getting a lot of returns...

On a cable, it's not possible to have a Micro-USB and a USB-C connector on the other side.

On a cable, either a Micro-USB or a USB-C connector is on the other side of the cable; it's a USB-A connector that connects to a charger or your computer's USB port.

This isn't an official TomTom forum, so there's no one from TomTom who can answer your questions.

Ah, sorry, I didn't understand.

To avoid any errors, you must order the correct cable for your GPS model.

To avoid any errors, you must order the correct cable for your GPS model.

There were NO errors. I ordered precisely the goods that were stated, compatible with my model AS A KIT. It arrived in a TOM Tom Official box. At sometime the mount assembly has had the USB socket changed from a micro USB to a USB-C but they have NOT upgraded the cable which is micro USB Right-Angle plug with the standard USB-A plug on the other end. Very shoddy of them as I said they are getting MANY returns on their official Amazon page for this reason. Look at the reviews...

What GPS model do you have?

According to your explanation, you ordered a kit with a micro-USB cable and received a kit with a micro-USB-C connector instead. Is that correct?

No one is immune to poor packaging. Amazon had to exchange or refund it.
Then, when TomTom learned of this error, it had to recall the defective packs.
