will maps on sd work on more than 1 tomtom device

hi,
im traveling to america in a couple of weeks so im going to download the america map for my 510go, my friend will also be traveling to america at a different time and so also requires the american map for his tomtom 510go. i was wondering if the 1 map saved on a sd card can work on either of the tomtoms at seperate times or would it be locked to just one tomtom device.

It's locked via the activation code and the device code.
