Wifi connection password

Hello......I've been setting up my device. I wanted to set up the wifi connection but put in an incorrect password. It now tries to authenticate but unsuccessfully. However, there doesn't seem to be a back step where I can put in the correct password, so I cannot proceed. As I have nothing to save, apart from the basics, should I return to factory settings and make a fresh start? Thank you.

Perhaps so. Don't have an underscore in the password or more than 12 characters.

Thanks for reply. It isn't a new password for me to use. I just want to connect to my friend's wifi password, as I don't have wifi. This is the connection I am likely to use, in the short term, for anything wifi related. I use data normally, unless travelling to other locations. I need to put in the correct password for the connection, but it doesn't seem to allow an edit. The connection is trying to initiate, but can't because of wrong password.

A factory reset will remove a user name and password from the device so you should be able to start over.
