HI ALL :) just changing from a Premium X to a Go Discover 6", I know the new one needs to be 'connected' via a phone for traffic etc, but does it have to be Bluetooth...can I use a WiFi connection instead ? Thankyou

Yes, you can use your phone as a WiFi hot spot and provide your Discover with traffic and TT cloud data that way. In fact, due to the wonky behavior of BT on some phones, it's been my preference for quite some time.

Contrary to 'conventional wisdom' I've seen posted by some, I don't find that WiFi takes any more phone battery than BT. That's because although WiFi is a bit higher power, messaging is at much higher data rates, so it takes much less time to transmit the data.

Thankyou, just I dont want to connect the phone via bluetooth, or wifi, and get messages / calls beiong routed via TOM TOM, I have an old standalone mobile wifi unit that I can use ( Its a '3' MiFi unit) :)

Your phone shouldn't be routing any calls or messages to your Discover over WiFi, so you don't need a separate WiFi device.
