WHy is tomtom US maps always down??

Any other US tomtom user ever found the maps site up? if you got to the UK site there are many v7xxx updated maps, yet the US site tomtom...\products\maps is always down.

Just a wild guess: they want you to use exclusively TT Home to purchase maps (it's their twisted idea of thwarting piracy - hey, we're all pirates in North America, didn't you know?), while in Europe they're trustworthy enough to purchase SD cards with preloaded maps.

You can use the UK or other sites, provided you can supply a valid address in the country you are logged into. I used the address of the US embassy in the Hague to buy the western Europe map, even though it was all in Dutch. Pretty easy to figure out what buttons to push and what blocks to fill in. Pay in euros by credit card and let visa or master figure it out for you.
