Which map should I install?

I recently bought a TomTom Start 25.
When I connected to My TomTom I downloaded a map of Europe (v8.85).
I'm also being offered a map of Western Europe (v6.57) in My Maps. How can I tell which is the latest one/ which one I should install?
Hope someone can help.

Did you by chance use the same email address for registering the new unit as you did for a previous one you owned?

The reason I ask is that the Western_Europe map offering is **very** old and should not be offered for your device. The newest map (out last week) is 890.

Thanks - I did. So should I just ignore it or can I remove it from the listing?
And does my latest map guarantee let me update to the latest version or did that expire when I downloaded 8.85?

Ignore the offering. If you used the LMG to get 885, then I'm afraid you can't get 890.

This isn't strictly related but you obviously know your stuff, so can you tell me whether there is a compass function on the Start 25 like there was on my Go? I can't find it.

Nah, TomTom in its 'wisdom' decided to remove that feature from newer applications on all models. Unfortunately.
