like any geek, i wanna check out what makes a POI file.

i d/l and installed POIEDIT (www.poiedit.com) and it shows a basic format.

i was able to google and find this link:
http://www.tomtom.com/support/ce/support/nav_poi.php

at the bottom is the dos apps that convert txt files to ov2 and back.

so i ran the DUMPOV2 app and found that the entries contain phone numbers and address, which the link doesnt describe.

is there a updated file format?

thanks...

From the poiedit faq
Can I add a phone number to the poi's which then can be called within TomTom?

Yes, you can do this by appending the "greater-than" sign to the description field, followed by the (international) phone number. For example:
Hilton Hotel >+31 10 9198723
