I have got a TomTom Go Exclusive. Can you get What Three Words to work on TomTom and if so so how? Googled it and it does say TomTom supports What Three Words.

As an aside -- ascot54, above, mentions MapCode. That was invented by TomTom, so they had less incentive to do something else, I guess. In any case, we rarely see any MapCode references to locations here in North America.TomTom have disappointed lots of us with this omission. I still use W3W and just copy the Lat & Long (shown below the 3 word location on W3W) onto my Exclusive.
Didnt know Mapcode was invented by TT....every day a achool day...As an aside -- ascot54, above, mentions MapCode. That was invented by TomTom, so they had less incentive to do something else, I guess. In any case, we rarely see any MapCode references to locations here in North America.

As far as I can see, it was announced in 2018. Maybe it will be done by 2028? No sense in rushing these things...It was announced, but no, What3Words is still not compatible with Tomtom GPS devices.

The long winded way to do it is to use the W3W app and when you select "Navigate', you get an option of which naviagiotn app to use - at least I do on my iPhone version. I get the option of Google, Apple, Waze and Tomtom
OK. I can answer my own question.I have been using the same procedure without a problem for over a year using the TomTom app on my Samsung Galaxy phone. However when I tried to use it a couple of weeks ago I found that the TomTom option had disappeared from the what3words "Get Directions" window. All I have is the Google Maps and Compass icons. I am talking to what3words to try to find out what the problem is. I don't know if what3words, TomTom or I have broken something.
If someone else can still see the TomTom option in the what3words "Get Directions" window on an Android phone in the UK please post.
Raesewell,I have the Tomtom Go Expert app and it works with What 3 Words.
Thanks. I just wanted to make sure I hadn't jumped to the wrong conclusion.I tried it last night, and I do pay the subscription so not the free trial.

I remember well when TomTom's Mapcode was supposed to be the hot, new thing, too. It was even released as an open standard, but it seems that never really went anywhere, either. They seemed to have lost interest for good about the time they dropped all custom POI support (anything after the GO 62x0 / Premium / Supreme era). Seems it's now only popular in parts of Africa and Asia that have poor or no street numbering systems. Thanks Canderson.
