    Ok...
I am a heavy MSN (Windows live Messenger) and AIM user.
But I find these two programs hog my ram like there is no tomorrow,
and I also don't like the fact that I have to open two messengers.

If you use multi-protocol messenger, which one do you use?
I used to use trillian... but no longer supports MSN...
(and if it is free, it would be much appreciated)

I also used to use Trillian. I experience spyware with it and haven't used it since.

I use GAIM. There is an encryption plugin that allows you to encrypt your data. I use it with coworkers when discussing customer info.
