tom tom touch car kit failure

I have a car kit for my ipod touch. The unit worked for several months and now does not get a gps fix.
I purchased it in March 2011 and contacted tom tom in September regarding the problem and questioned the one year warranty. Made several phone calls and contacts via email. The final results were....... The unit needs to be replaced but tomtom does not have any and there is
nothing they can do.The last call i made I talked to someone in the tech Dept who said the would send this problem on to the Financial Dept and they would contact me. Been a month and no contact. Apparantly they will not honor the 1yr warranty,
