TomTom Model(s)
GO 520
Hi all. Looking to purchase a new and the latest GPS. What is recommended? I currently have a GO 620 but I broke the power inlet and cannot charge it anymore. I don't need anything super fancy with too many buttons and whistles. Recommendations are appreciated. Thanks

Don’t bother!
They’ll sell you something that’s not fit for purpose!
I have a Go Premium X with built in SIM card for live services now after two years not working.
Tom Tom emailed and they keep fobbing me off claiming it is communicating and live services ok.
Not it isn’t and they can’t be bothered to try and fix it!
Solicitor getting involved now as they sold me a unit that is not fit for purpose from their selling point claim!
Tom Tom are not supporting devices anymore but still keep selling them!
They are pushing Mobile app now!

Relax, Sheridan. We have never had the 5x00 or 6x00 devices here in North America, so @Smoker123 (from Canada) isn't going to have to deal with the issues you bring up. Since the old 2G Live devices went silent here many years ago, we have been connecting via WiFi (my preference) or Bluetooth on smart phones.

Doesn’t matter!
Shocking customer service and poor selling point when not fit for purpose!
I stand by my comment!
If Tom Tom sort mine out (and others that u know if) then great. But after 4 years of nothing don’t expect any help!

Doesn’t matter!
It most certainly does. Your issues with the SIM cards might make devices you are dealing with not 'fit for purpose' in your opinion, but nothing about the models currently available on our side of the pond meet that description.

That said, I'll agree that the customer service certainly isn't what it used to be.

Hence why it doesn’t matter!
We have problems here but you don’t!
That’s the difference!
When I’m sold something that does not work as intended then it is Tom Tom fault and breach of sales!

Yes the CS is dire!

Now it probably won't work anymore, they have disabled all SIM cards.

The only solution for you is to connect your GPS to your smartphone.
