Walking with tomtom

Hi, Does anyone know if a tom tom speaks to you when in the walking mode? As a blind person I would be using the sat nav when on foot but the Garmin does not speak when in the walking mode!!!!!!

TomTom's are road gps units. As such the screen refresh speed on them for somebody walking is not very good. In other words, you may have to move 5 to 10 feet before the car icon shows any movement along a road.

So, when you hear the voice say, for example, "turn right", you really may be beyond the road where you should have turned.
