Via 1535 freezes when new voice installed/chosen

Just got a new Via 1535. Previously owned a TomTom One. I have a bunch of voices I purchased for my old TomTom. I copied the .chk, .vif and .bmp of one of the voices and installed on the new TomTom using My TomTom. Seemed to have installed correctly (shows up on the TomTom in Voices), but when I select it try to use it, the device freezes. I unisntalled it and installed another voice from the old TomTom, and the same thing happened.

Is there a compatability problem, or am I dong something wrong? I tried zipping all 3 and installing, and also copying the files one at a time.

I'm afraid that purchased voices, like purchased maps, are only valid for the device first installed upon.

Try a free voice from somewhere. If that works, then it proves the problem is with the purchased voices, as dhn says.
