Via 135 GPSFix

Hi,
New here, so hello.

Have VIA 135 and everytime I connect to my PC I'm prompted for QuickGPSFix.

Downloaded it several times to no avail.

Is there a fix for this?

Do you mean the same file is offered even though you download it in the same session of MyTomTom?

Clleat the cache in the desktop icon (Settings-->Cache) and save settings. Shut down MyTomTom completely by selecting 'exit', not 'close' in the desktop.


Do a drum reboot of the unit by holding the power button about 20 seconds till the drum sounds and then reconnect to the computer. Restart MyTomTom.

My Via 135 is now no longer recognised by my XP PC. Even after PC reboot.
Sounds like a step backwards.

When you connect to the computer, is there a little image of a computer on the device?

Now unable to talk to my Via 135 with PC at all.

Any advice would be welcome and I appreciate we all make mistakes.

That moderator's suggestions, not requests or instructions, are the top answers based on past experience and information on hand at that time.

Make an XP search for HOME3. In that folder should be a single sub-folder which should contain file pairs like
content4
response4
content5
response5
etc.

Post them here with their corresponding size or, if not too many, make a screen print and post it as an attachment.

While awaiting reply I removed tomtom files in safe mode after setting files to show all hidden.
After removing these I was able to re-establish communication.
Had to manually remove some files using dos commands.

A tomtom file removal tool would be useful.

Got there eventually. Glad I remember DOS.
