Using secondhand GO6200

TomTom Model(s)
GO 300, Start 60,
I've just bought a secondhand GO6200 (Serial no. ZA6318101165 (0) ) and should like some advice on how I should set about using the unit. Should I perform a factory reset and then try to add the device to my own My Drive account? If I do this, do I first need to contact TomTom support and request that they change the e-mail address registered to the unit? If I change the registered address, is there any risk that I will lose any of the current subscriptions? Might I do better to just leave it as it is?

I understood from some product descriptions that the GO6200 had lifetime Traffic and Speed Camera updates but some references suggest that this is only a feature of the GO6250. Did some GO6200s have lifetime subscriptions? My unit currently says 'You have a TomTom Traffic subscription' and ' ... Speed Camera Updates subscription'. Should it say 'lifetime subscription', if this was the case?

The GO 6200 has lifetime updates of speed camera and traffic maps.

You must do a factory reset to remove the email address of the previous owner.

Then, you must register this new GO on your Tomtom account.

Once registered, re-enter your email address on your GO.

Thank you, Willy. Very helpful and reassuring to know that the unit has lifetime updates.

You may find traffic has stopped working...
Reason is the inbuilt sim card (if fitted)...has expired...
Traffic service is now linked via bluetooth from your mobile fone

Traffic via a SIM card is lifetime and cannot be disabled unless 2G is no longer available in your country.

Willy..
I have had this problem recently...
Spoke to TT tech support wjo said Units with inbuilt sim will need to connect vis mobile fone as the 3rd psrty whoballowed the inbuilt traffic via sim card has ceased support ,!!
Thats direct from TomTom....
Whilst it states lifetime...
On checking my account traffic service expires in 2029 !!

I have a GO5100 which uses the same inbuilt SIM connecting to the Vodaphone network as the GO6200 and the traffic/speed camera data is still being received, including my GO Premium here in the U.K.
