RIDER 550
Hi, I've just joined this forum and am looking for some advice using the Rider 550 to navigate to an address in France. I've never been abroad with the bike and am a bit confused with the French post code system and the fact they represent an area. So I've downloaded the France map which I'll select when I get to Caen and here's the address which I need to navigate to:
1 Le Stang 56160 Ploerdut
Can someone tell me what to input in the Search facility? Can I enter the whole address as above?
Many thanks

Enter the whole address,

Hi,
Rider 550 comes with a pre-installed European map by default, so you don't need to install the French map.

You just need to select your destination: "Le Stang, 56160 Ploerdu."

Thanks for that. I had to download the French map, the UK and Ireland was the only map on mine so used the 'Add a Map' option to download, took a while so pleased I checked this out. So now I have 2 available maps to choose from. My 550 is about 4 years old

As I told you, your GPS has a complete Europe map, so you don't need to install other maps, which allows you to plan a route from your point A to your arrival.

For your information, if you download several maps, you are obliged to create several routes to cover your trip from A to your arrival.

I understand now, so I've deleted the French map to save space and in the process of downloading the Western Europe map which as you say will allow me to plot one route from my home in the UK to my destination in France. Many thanks for your help.

Just returned from another 8 days riding around France, you should have few problems, and as shown yes input the full address and it will find it for you.
